I don’t know where you are or what you are doing at the moment but I have got one question for you. If you have lots of options, would you be doing what you are doing right now?
Would you have preferred waking up by 4.30am in order to beat the traffic only to return by 8pm because you got held up by same traffic every week day?
Would you still be living in the outskirt of town because you can’t afford a decent accommodation in the heart of the city?
Would your kids still be attending that community school?
Would you still be squatting with 2 of your friends in that single room “face me, I face you”?
Would you still be hawking recharge cards in the traffic?
Would you agree to marry that man your parents are recommending because of the poverty alleviation scheme that he is proposing?
Would you still do indecent/immoral things just to land that account and keep your 50k job?
Would you still tolerate sexual harassment from your boss and go to work every single day?
Would you still be jumping tricycle in the stead or cruising in your own car?
I can go on and on and on but I will like you to think about your life and where you are at the moment. Is this what you truly want? Is that all you are ever going to be? Won’t you rather be somewhere else? Won’t you rather be with someone else? Won’t you rather live your dreams?
Yes I know, you don’t have any choice/option like most of us have resigned to fate.
*WE ARE GETTING TOO OLD TO KEEP DOING THE THINGS WE DON’T WANT TO DO*
Why do we keep letting life treat us this way?
You see, I don’t really chase money, I chase choices. I want to have the capacity to do what I want to do, when I want to do it and to decide how I will like it done. So… If lots of money is going to give me the ticket to my freedom, then that’s what I am going after.
Life is not too complicated. There is no nobility in living life with limited options when you can have more. So don’t allow given ups to sentimentally make it okay for you to keep eating shit.
Yes, I said shit.
Keep fighting for your freedom.
